David Lund is the Founder, President, and Chief Growth Strategist for GrowthSpring. His experience includes identifying and executing breakthrough growth strategies for fresh and processed food companies of all sizes. His primary focus includes helping food, fresh produce, and CPG companies enter new markets and channels and developing & launching new products. He has spent 25 years working for and with companies and brands such as Chiquita, Heinz, 9-Lives, Camposol, IFCO, Grey Ghost Bakery, Adams Apple, Co., Pure Fishing, Thx!, and Fresh Solutions Network to develop and execute new go-to-market strategies. While at Chiquita, David served as Director of Marketing and Director of Innovation and Product Development. While at Heinz, he led category management, branding, and innovation efforts across multiple pet food brands and categories. He has worked directly with more than 70 retailer headquarters to help food, and CPG companies, build their businesses. David has deep expertise in developing marketing initiatives that engage and excite consumers along the shopper purchase decision process.
David serves on the Advisory Board for Thx!, a purpose-driven fresh produce company, is a former president of the South Carolina Specialty Foods Association, and is a former chapter president of the American Marketing Association. He has founded multiple companies, including GrowthSpring Group. David served as the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications for the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina. He holds an MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.
